Frontier Miles
Frontier's spend-based program, where the fare bundle and Elite level set the earn rate, from 1 mile per dollar on a Basic fare to 16 on a bundle.
Frontier AirlinesUnited States
At a glance
Frontier Miles is the loyalty program of Frontier Airlines, and it pays on dollars spent, with bundles earning the most. A member on a Basic fare earns 1 mile per dollar, and 6 on a fare with a bundle. Elite Status Points, earned on the same spend, set four tiers: Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond. Earn rates changed on September 1, 2026, and new tier thresholds and benefits start on January 1, 2027.
Program facts
Overview
Frontier Miles pays on spend, and the size of the reward depends on what a member buys. On bookings made since September 1, 2026, a member with no status earns 1 mile per dollar on a Basic fare and 6 per dollar when the booking includes a bundle. The rates climb with each Elite level, to 11 miles on a Basic fare and 16 on a bundle at Diamond. Holders of the Frontier Airlines World Mastercard earn more at every level, up to 22 miles per dollar for a Diamond cardmember buying a bundle. The card also pays 5 more miles per dollar on eligible Frontier purchases. Partners in travel and everyday spending also pay miles, and members can buy miles.
The bundles are what Frontier sells on top of a Basic fare. The Economy bundle adds a carry-on bag, a standard seat and no change or cancel fees. The Premium bundle adds a better seat and first boarding. The Business bundle adds two checked bags and an UpFront Plus seat with an empty middle or a 2x2 layout. Miles pay for award flights, and they can also buy a bundle, from 2,000 miles.
Status runs on Elite Status Points, earned per dollar alongside miles. For 2026 activity, Silver takes 10,000 points, Gold 20,000 and Platinum 50,000. Diamond dropped from 100,000 to 75,000 points, so a member who earns 75,000 in 2026 holds Diamond through 2027. From January 1, 2027, Silver rises to 15,000 points and Gold to 25,000, while Platinum stays at 50,000. A tier earned in any month holds until the end of the following calendar year.
The benefits for bookings made from January 1, 2027 turn on bundles. Every Elite member who buys an Economy or Premium bundle can move up to UpFront Plus or First Class for free when seats are open. The window opens 4 hours before departure at Silver, 8 at Gold, 18 at Platinum and 24 at Diamond. Gold adds a free carry-on bag and Group 1 boarding. Platinum adds a checked bag for each person on the booking, a pet-in-cabin fee waiver and two companion travel certificates. Diamond adds a second checked bag, preboarding and unlimited companion travel, subject to terms.
Miles do not expire as long as the account shows earning activity at least once every 12 months, and card purchases count. Family pooling lets up to 8 people combine miles toward award flights. The World Mastercard also earns one Elite Status Point per dollar spent, which gives a cardholder a path to status without flying more.
Frontier built the program around the bundle. A Basic fare earns little at every level, and the free upgrades in the 2027 benefits go only to members who bought a bundle. Each Elite tier and the card multiply what a bundle already pays, so the program's rewards point a traveler at the higher-priced product every time they book. Cutting the Diamond bar by a quarter while raising Silver and Gold moves value up the ladder: the entry tiers get harder to reach, and the top tier gets easier.
