Atmos Rewards

The combined Alaska and Hawaiian program, launched in August 2025 as Atmos Rewards. It renamed the currency to points and adds flexible status earning.

Atmos Rewards is the loyalty program of Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines, launched on 20 August 2025 to merge Alaska's Mileage Plan and HawaiianMiles. The combined currency is now called points, converted 1:1 from the old miles. Alaska remains a oneworld member, so points redeem across the alliance and 30-plus partners.

Atmos Rewards is the combined loyalty program of Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines, launched on 20 August 2025 after the two carriers merged. It folded Alaska's Mileage Plan and Hawaiian's HawaiianMiles into one scheme, converting balances one to one, with HawaiianMiles accounts moving across on 1 October 2025. In a notable branding move, the merged currency is now officially called points rather than miles, though members and search behavior still lean on the older term.

Alaska remains a member of oneworld, so Atmos points redeem across the alliance and more than 30 airline partners, a reach that made Alaska's program valuable well before the merger. The renamed elite ladder runs Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Titanium. From 2026 the program adds flexible status earning, letting members choose to qualify by distance flown, dollars spent, or segments flown.

The lesson for an enterprise operator is how to merge two loyalty programs without destroying member trust. Alaska converted balances at parity, preserved the partner redemptions members valued most, and phased in changes rather than imposing them at once. Renaming miles to points and unifying two elite structures are exactly the moments a merger can alienate a loyal base. Alaska's staged, parity-first approach is a template for any operator integrating loyalty programs after an acquisition.
