The British Airways Club is the loyalty program of British Airways, carrying the name it took on 1 April 2025 when the airline retired the Executive Club brand. The spending currency is Avios, the shared points currency of seven programs: British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Finnair, Qatar Airways, Vueling, and Loganair. Members can pool Avios and move them between these programs at parity.

The 2025 overhaul changed how status works. Tier Points, which drive Bronze, Silver, and Gold status, are now earned on money spent rather than distance flown or cabin booked, at roughly one Tier Point per pound on flights and, for the first time, on ancillary purchases such as seat selection and bags. Thresholds rose sharply, and the British Airways American Express cards can contribute Tier Points directly.

The lesson for an enterprise operator is that rebasing status on spend is a blunt instrument that reshapes who reaches the top. Tying Tier Points to revenue rewards high-fare customers and card holders, but the steep new thresholds drew public criticism from long-standing frequent flyers who lost ground. An operator moving to revenue-based status should model the winners and losers before launch, and prepare a communications plan for the members the change disadvantages.
