At a glance
Old Navy's Navyist Rewards became Encore on February 24, 2026, when Gap Inc. renamed the shared program of Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic and Athleta. Members earn 5 points per $1, and 500 points make a $1 reward, so the base return is 1%. Core is free, Premier starts at $350 of yearly spend, and All-Access comes with an Encore credit card that earns 25 points per $1. A new Old Navy card takes 30% off the first purchase.
Program facts
Overview
Old Navy launched Navyist Rewards on September 24, 2020, as its own version of a new Gap Inc. program. It replaced BRIGHT Rewards and paid 2 points per $1, with $5 back for every 500 points. On July 22, 2021, Gap Inc. merged its card and loyalty programs and added three tiers: Core, Enthusiast and Icon. Enthusiast began at $500 of yearly spend and Icon at $1,000. On February 24, 2026, the company renamed the whole program Encore. Old Navy's FAQ says every former Navyist became an Encore member with no action needed. Holders of a Navyist Rewards Credit Card keep their card and move up to the All-Access tier.
At Old Navy, Core and Premier members earn 5 points per $1 on qualifying purchases. In stores they give a phone number at checkout, and online they sign in to their account. Gift cards, store credit, coupon savings, shipping and tax earn no points. Orders placed through Instagram, eBay or Shopify earn none either. An Encore credit card lifts the rate to 25 points per $1 at Old Navy and its three sister brands. The Mastercard version also pays 15 points per $1 at other clothing stores and 5 points per $1 everywhere else, or 10 for World and World Elite cardmembers. Wholesale clubs, Amazon, Target and Walmart do not count as clothing stores.
Every 500 points is worth $1 off, which keeps the 1% return members had under the old 100-point rate. Gap Inc. raised existing balances at the switch so their dollar value held. Members spend points at any of the four brands, in store or online, up to 1 million points, or $2,000, in one transaction. Points also work in the Encore Market, the successor to the old Rewards Marketplace. It lists limited drops, collaborations and event access. Each Market redemption is final sale. The whole balance expires if the account goes 12 months without earning or redeeming. Gap's Encore page lists Super Cash, GapCash and Style Cash as separate programs with their own terms.
Core is free for U.S. residents aged 16 and older. It brings free basic shipping on orders of $50 or more and a birthday gift. Premier opens once a member spends $350 in a calendar year across the brands, and status earned in one year lasts through the next. It adds free standard shipping at $50 and a second birthday gift for one family member. Premier members get 45 days to return items, with store credit after day 30. They also get one 15% sale day a year. All-Access goes to every cardmember. It brings free shipping at $35 with the card, birthday gifts for up to three family members and 60-day returns. Cardmembers also get early access to drops, a 20% sale day and free basic hemming at Banana Republic.
Barclays issues both Old Navy cards: a store card for Gap Inc. brands and a Mastercard for use wherever Mastercard is taken. A new account gets 30% off its first Old Navy purchase within 14 days, as long as the card is the only payment. The matching Gap card offer is 20%. Old Navy cardmembers manage their accounts at oldnavy.barclaysus.com, and points cannot be used to pay the card bill. Purchases by authorized users earn points for the main account.
Old Navy carries most of the weight. In fiscal 2025 it booked $7.95 billion of Gap Inc.'s $13.56 billion in U.S. net sales, about 59%. The points on $350 of spend are small: $350 earns 1,750 points, or $3.50 to spend. Premier's sale day can be used once at each brand on the chosen date. The card pays 5% back, and Old Navy's opening offer of 30% off the first purchase runs ten percentage points above Gap's 20%.
