Overview

Bath & Body Works runs My Bath & Body Works Rewards at no cost to members. The company piloted it in select markets, then launched it nationwide in the U.S. in August 2022. By early 2023 more than 33 million people had enrolled. Active members, meaning those who bought directly from the company in the past 12 months, reached about 37 million in early 2024 and 39 million in early 2025. The 10-K for fiscal 2025 puts the active base at 40 million. Members accounted for nearly 80% of U.S. sales in both 2023 and 2024.

The program terms effective September 6, 2023 set 1 point for every 10 cents of eligible spend, which is 10 points per $1. Eligible spend is the amount paid after discounts, leaving out shipping, tax, gift cards and gift wrap. Members scan the barcode in the app at the register or sign in online, and some states allow a phone or email lookup instead. A purchase made up to 7 days before joining still counts. Points usually post within 72 hours, and a return takes them back, even into a negative balance. Bonus offers, such as double or triple points, have to be activated before the purchase.

The same terms required 1,000 points for one Reward, which was $100 of eligible spend. A Reward buys one item whose original ticket price is $18.95 or less. The cap follows the ticket, not the price paid: a 3-Wick Candle ticketed at $26.95 does not qualify even when it is on promotion for $12.95. The Reward goes to the most expensive eligible item in the bag, and one order takes up to eight Rewards. Wallflowers plugs, candle and soap accessories, PocketBac holders, sponges and socks are excluded. Rewards last 90 days, and online orders pay shipping on the free item.

Members also get a birthday Reward for one item up to $9.95, valid for 30 days, plus a welcome offer and early access to new scents. Points lapse after 365 days without any account activity. The window is 90 days for someone who joined at a register and never set a password. The cap on Rewards has risen over time: the September 2023 terms set it at $16.95, and an app update on September 11, 2025 raised it to $18.95.

Other changes came in steps. Bath & Body Works added point accelerators in the fourth quarter of 2023 and held member-only events that year. Its 10-K for fiscal 2024 said the reward redemption rate rose during 2024 and that more changes were planned for 2025. Bath & Body Works also runs Gingham Nation: The Collective, a separate creator program on the Duel platform. It takes U.S. residents aged 18 or older, or the age of majority in their state, with an active public Instagram account and at least 1,000 followers. Creators earn points, level up through tiers and can earn commissions.

The program pays in product. A Reward buys one item whose original ticket price is $18.95 or less, and the free item is the eligible one with the highest ticket price in the bag. A promotion price does not change which items qualify. The 10-K for fiscal 2024 said nearly 80% of U.S. sales in 2024 came from loyalty members.
