Sonesta Travel Pass is the loyalty program of Sonesta International Hotels, established in 2013. Members earn ten points per US dollar of eligible room spend at most brands and five at the value brands, with tier bonuses layered on for Silver, Gold, and Platinum status. Free-night pricing is not published as an award chart: members see the points cost only by pricing a specific property while signed in. Status qualifies by nights or points. The brand portfolio runs from Royal Sonesta at the upper end down through Sonesta Select and Simply Suites.

Sonesta is notable for how fast its portfolio grew, expanding sharply through acquisitions of formerly franchised properties, which multiplied the network in a short span. Rapid portfolio growth is a loyalty challenge as much as a real-estate one. When a footprint balloons quickly and unevenly, members lose their sense of what a point is worth across a suddenly wider and more varied set of hotels, and Sonesta's decision to retire its published award chart removed the one reference they had. The operator lesson is that scaling a brand family through acquisition puts the burden on the redemption structure. Withdrawing award pricing from public view gives the operator room to reprice a shifting estate, and it costs the member the ability to plan.
