Brilliant by Langham is the loyalty program of Langham Hospitality Group, launched in 2024 as an all-new program for its luxury and upscale brands, including The Langham and Cordis. It uses two currencies. Award points earn on qualified stays and charges, redeemable for stays and experiences or convertible to airline miles, while status points accumulate over the year to move members through seven gemstone tiers, Onyx, Topaz, Diamond, Sapphire, and Ruby, with invitation-only Ruby Elite and Ruby IO above them, resetting annually. Earning extends across associated brands, and the program is built on GRAVTY.
What makes it instructive is the timing. Launching a modern luxury program in 2024 meant the capabilities a member now expects, dual currencies, tier machinery, partner conversion, shared earning across brands, and real-time recognition, were table stakes on day one. Langham reached them by adopting a loyalty platform rather than building the stack in-house, which compresses time to market from years to months. The operator lesson is that for a new program, the build-versus-buy decision now tilts hard toward buy. The differentiator is program design and guest experience, not the plumbing underneath, which is increasingly a solved, purchasable layer.
