Choice Privileges is the loyalty program of Choice Hotels International, spanning midscale and economy brands including Comfort, Quality Inn, Sleep Inn, and the upscale Ascend Hotel Collection. Members earn points on stays and co-brand cards and redeem for free nights, with the program running frequent points-purchase and bonus promotions that keep the currency liquid. Its defining recent event was Choice's 2022 acquisition of Radisson Hotels Americas, which added the Radisson family of brands to the portfolio.
Choice integrated that program in two stages, and the sequence is the structural lesson. In January 2023 it opened a point-exchange bridge, letting members move balances between Choice Privileges and Radisson Rewards Americas and matching status across the two. Six months later it completed the migration: on 26 July 2023 Radisson Rewards Americas closed and member balances converted into Choice Privileges points at two to one. A forced migration onto one currency is the highest-risk moment in any loyalty integration, because it is when devaluation fears peak and members defect. The bridge did not avoid that moment, it staged it, giving members a working option while the acquirer prepared the consolidation. Operators should read an exchange bridge as a transition tool rather than a permanent alternative, and should expect the conversion ratio to be the number members judge them on.
