Overview

GHA DISCOVERY is the shared loyalty program of Global Hotel Alliance, which brings 55 independent hotel brands and roughly 1,000 hotels under one membership. It relaunched in December 2021 around a new currency, DISCOVERY Dollars, earned as a value on eligible spend and redeemable across the member brands, so a guest can earn staying with one operator and spend at another. That cross-brand movement is the whole point of the ecosystem model, and it is what separates an alliance program from a single-chain program.

The hard part is not the front-end currency, it is the back-end. When members earn with one independent brand and redeem with another, value has to move between separate operators with separate balance sheets, at an agreed rate and direction, netted and reconciled each cycle. Earn, burn, exchange, and settlement have to be native platform primitives, not bolt-ons. That is why GHA DISCOVERY runs on GRAVTY, the platform built by Loyalty Juggernaut for exactly this machinery. The operator lesson is that a multi-brand ecosystem lives or dies on settlement and reconciliation between independent members, which is the capability most single-brand loyalty stacks were never designed to provide.
