Program facts
Overview
Wawa Rewards is the free program behind the Wawa App, run by Wawa, Inc. of Wawa, Pennsylvania. The privately held chain has about 1,200 stores in 13 states and Washington, D.C. Members join in the app or at WawaRewards.com, and the program is open to U.S. residents aged 13 and up. An account also holds up to five Wawa Gift Cards and opens mobile ordering. With consent, Wawa also enters the member in some sweepstakes automatically.
In the store, members earn 10 points per $1 on eligible items. Points count when the member scans the app or a phone wallet pass. A registered key card or Wawa Gift Card works too. Prepaid mobile orders in the app earn the same rate. Fuel earns 5 points per gallon, on any grade, but only when the Wawa App activates the pump and takes the payment. Fuel paid any other way earns no points. Lottery tickets, tobacco, alcohol, gift cards, milk and cream, catering and online orders are left out. Points post on up to 15 transactions a day, and a balance tops out at 500,000.
Points are spent in the Rewards Store in the app or on WawaRewards.com. Free items start at 250 points, and rotating sweepstakes entries can cost less. Wawa shows the point prices in the app and can change them at any time. A chosen item becomes a coupon for the register or for a mobile order. A fuel discount is picked while activating the pump in the app, and the fill must be paid there too. One fuel reward applies per fill, and it cannot share a fill with a Bonus Reward. In New Jersey, rewards and offers cannot be applied to fuel, though Wawa's terms say points can still be earned on gallons there.
Points expire on the first day of the month after their six-month mark. Points earned on April 7, 2026, for example, lapse on November 1, 2026. The app flags any points due to expire within 90 days. Wawa closes an account after 12 months with no activity, and its points and coupons go with it. New members get 350 Welcome Points after a first eligible purchase. Other extras include a birthday reward and surprise Bonus Rewards. Member Extras Challenges pay a reward after a set run of purchases.
Wawa updated the program terms on June 2, 2026. The update let members spend points on sweepstakes entries, up to 10 at a time, with a free way to enter as well. It also tidied the expiry and account closure wording without changing when points lapse. On April 16, 2026, the 62nd anniversary of its first retail store, Wawa offered every member one free hot coffee of any size. First National Bank of Omaha issues the Wawa Mastercard. It pays 3 card points per $1 on Wawa purchases other than pump fuel and 1 elsewhere. Every 2,500 card points become a $25 Wawa gift card, and card points sit apart from Wawa Rewards. A limited offer from September 8 to October 31, 2026 credits 75 cents a gallon for the first 30 days, then 5 cents.
Fuel loyalty runs through the app. A driver who pays with a plain card at the pump, or at the counter, gets neither points nor a fuel reward. Wawa shows reward prices inside the app and says they can change. Wawa's own help pages tell a member with fewer than 250 points and an expiry coming to buy more or enter a sweepstakes.
