Program facts
Overview
Casey's General Stores launched Casey's Rewards in January 2020. The company runs 2,944 stores across 19 states, about half of them in Iowa, Missouri and Illinois. Joining costs nothing, and every new Casey's account is enrolled on creation. Members earn 10 points for each full dollar spent in a store, in the app, on the website or over the phone. Fuel earns 5 points per full gallon, and whole pizzas earn 20 points per dollar. Partial dollars and partial gallons earn nothing. Points post on the first 10 eligible transactions in a day. Alcohol, tobacco, lottery, gift cards, milk, car washes and purchases at franchise or leased locations inside a Casey's store, such as Subway or A&W, earn no points.
A member has to convert points before using them. The minimum is 250 points, and larger amounts go in steps of 50. Each 250 points buys $1 of Casey's Cash, 5 cents off per gallon, or a $1 gift to the Cash for Classrooms grant fund. A fuel discount covers up to 20 gallons in one fill, and those gallons earn no points. Casey's Cash cannot pay for fuel, so the two balances never mix. Both expire 30 days after conversion, and a choice cannot be switched later. Points that stay unconverted last until the member goes a full year with no Casey's Rewards activity.
The fixed conversion rate makes the math simple. A dollar spent inside the store returns 4 cents, and a dollar on whole pizza returns 8 cents. A gallon of fuel earns 5 points, which is worth 2 cents. Casey's put its average pump price at $3.02 in fiscal 2026, so fuel pays back well under 1%. Double points on pizza began on October 1, 2023. They replaced digital box tops, which counted toward a free 11th pizza. Members with at least one Rewards transaction in the prior 12 months got 150 bonus points for each box top left over.
Every member earns at the same rates, because the terms set no status levels. Extras come as offers that members save in the app before buying. New members currently get 20 cents off per gallon and a free slice. On their birthday, members choose a free cookie or donut. A member who refers a friend gets 100 bonus points once the friend joins and buys, and the friend gets 100 too. School gifts go to the grant pool in one lump sum in Casey's name. In 2026 that program gave $1.3 million to K-12 schools through 100 grants.
Casey's 10-K counted more than 10 million members at April 30, 2026. The fiscal year results release put the figure near 10.5 million, after the program passed 10 million in the quarter ending January 31, 2026. The rewards terms were last updated on May 1, 2026. The company records part of each sale that earns points as deferred revenue. That contract liability, mostly for Casey's Rewards, stood at $72.7 million at April 30, 2026, against $64.1 million a year earlier.
The earn rates run in the same order as Casey's margins. Fuel brought in 60.4% of fiscal 2026 revenue but kept just 42.6 cents a gallon after fuel costs, and it earns the thinnest reward. Grocery and general merchandise kept 35.8% of sales and earns 4 cents per dollar. Prepared food and dispensed drinks kept 58.6%, and the pizza category gets the double rate. At the pump, a member enters a phone number at the dispenser to earn the 5 points per gallon.
