Qatar Airways has scheduled its 283-seat Airbus A350-900 on the route between Doha Hamad International Airport and Bahrain International Airport for August 12 and 13. The flights cover 80 nautical miles each way based on the great circle distance. This deployment makes the link the world’s shortest bookable Airbus A350 service in 2026. It has overtaken the carrier’s previous shortest A350 operation to Dammam which covers 122 nautical miles. On those days the airline plans one daily rotation with the widebody instead of its usual mix of narrowbodies and Boeing 787-8s. The outbound flight QR1102 departs Doha at 1:00 PM local time and arrives in Bahrain at 1:55 PM. The return QR11093 leaves Bahrain at 3:25 PM and arrives back in Doha at 4:20 PM. Schedule data shows the A350 has appeared on the route in 14 of the past 56 months but only on a limited number of departures each time. Widebody aircraft operate just 7 percent of services to Bahrain overall. Such use of large aircraft on short sectors is common in the Middle East.
