Kroger expanded its loyalty program in June 2026 to let members redeem points for grocery savings, not only fuel discounts. Under the change, 100 points can be redeemed for $1 off groceries, capped at $10 a day, or for 10 cents per gallon off fuel, capped at $1 per gallon. Members typically earn one point per dollar spent, and Boost subscription members earn two points per dollar. The move gives shoppers a choice in how they spend points and aligns Kroger with competitors such as Albertsons and Giant Food that already offered grocery redemption. Chief executive Greg Foran, who joined in February 2026, has emphasized simplifying the retailer’s value proposition. Grocery programs are unifying points currencies and widening redemption to keep members active as competition for household spending intensifies.
