Best Buy said on May 4, 2026 that it will add reward points to its paid My Best Buy Plus and My Best Buy Total memberships, taking effect June 4. Members earn 1 percent back in points on eligible purchases, or 6 percent when paying with the My Best Buy Credit Card, and can redeem points for reward certificates toward future purchases. Members will track points in a new digital membership hub on Best Buy’s website and app. The free My Best Buy tier does not earn points. My Best Buy Plus stays at $29.99 a year, while My Best Buy Total rises to $199.99. “Our customers have been clear about what they want from us: reward points, convenience and exclusive benefits,” said Jennie Weber, Best Buy’s chief marketing officer. Retailers are adding points to paid memberships to justify subscription fees and lift purchase frequency.
