Natural Grocers stayed profitable in net and comparable-store sales thanks to its loyalty program, affordable pricing strategy and new store openings. The grocer introduced its Even More Affordable Prices campaign in October 2025 with discounts on more than 500 items. The effort now covers over 1,000 items for members of the Npower program. Npower serves as the main tool for promotions and customer engagement, with member sales showing growth in traffic and basket sizes. Private label items reached 9.7 percent of total sales after a 110 basis point increase. In the third quarter the company opened three new stores, including its first in Wisconsin, and relocated one location. It plans one additional opening in the fourth quarter. All six new stores opened this year posted strong first-day results, and the retailer aims for 4 percent to 5 percent annual unit growth. Natural Grocers also launched a DoorDash partnership to extend delivery to its full footprint and will add Npower integration for member savings. The company narrowed its 2026 outlook to six or seven new stores and expects comparable-store sales growth between 1.5 percent and 2 percent. Ongoing consumer focus on health and wellness supports long-term expansion for the chain.
